1. Lok Adalat adopts a non adversarial process and can only entertain cases related to compoundable offences. The Lok Adalat is presided by a sitting or retired judge. A case can come to Lok Adalat only if both the parties agree to resolve the case through negotiation The decision of the Lok Adalat is binding on both the parties.
